- Saturday, March 22 at 9:00 am, Grace Lutheran Church, Knoxville.
The cost for the weekend is $275 for team members (team meals included) and $225 for pilgrims. Scholarships are available if this is a hardship. Contact the Rector in confidence to request assistance.
Regarding Rollos:
The Rector and the Head Spiritual Director will review the content of all planned Lay talks. They will then instruct the professors on appropriate language and personal testimony to best ensure that nothing is offered that would detract from the purpose of the Rollo, but instead, serves the flow of the whole weekend. If during the critique process there is still something that is of concern, it is the responsibility of the critique team to state that concern at that moment in a loving, caring and compassionate manner. If it is uncomfortable to express a feeling in a team meeting, then the concern must be raised directly with the Rector as soon as possible. The Rector along with the Lay Director will take that input and deal with it as they are spirit-led. Each Rollo has a definite character and piece to the whole weekend. Some have very little personal testimony by design. This is neither the time nor the place to add personal testimony that is not directly relevant to the Rollo. We can so easily get in God’s way – our purpose is to proclaim with exuberant clarity the message of grace.
Anyone giving a Rollo is instructed to bathe their presentation in prayer and present that which is offered in the talk outline, which has been approved and provided by the National Secretariat, as one part of a single presentation. Dependent on your discernment of God’s leading, take care to offer nothing beyond that outline which will break the flow of the weekend message. If we, by our words or actions, cause the ears and hearts to close, we are denying God’s word to be heard. And that just can’t happen. Every team member has been called to serve, to sacrifice, in humility and grace, for the new pilgrims and must sublimate their own personal beliefs.
